Transportation to Moc Chau, Son La

If traveling from Hanoi, you can choose to go by motorbike or car. On the way, you can admire, enjoy the countless beautiful scenery of the Northwest mountains and forests.

1. Motorbike or Car

Follow the road from Hanoi to Thang Long Avenue turn left to Xuan Mai along Highway 6 to Hoa Binh. Near the center of Hoa Binh, there is a signpost to Son La. According to the Cun slope, and straight along Highway 6 to Cao Phong from here is the straight line. On the way through Thung Khe, remember to stop taking pictures. This is a beautiful place not to be missed when checking up the road to Moc Chau.

2. Passenger car

If you do not have travel experience with a motorbike, it is best to choose a passenger car. Passenger car from My Dinh bus station, Yen Nghia bus station, Son La guesthouse (378 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi).

Ticket price from 120,000 VND – 150,000 VND / person. You can refer to reputable car companies such as Hai Nam, Cong Doan, Ngoc Thuan, Tuan Hien. Passenger car from Yen Nghia bus station is a car 16 or 29 seats, running from 5 am to 13 pm, cost about 110,000 VND / person.

Best time to visit Moc Chau, Son La

Before and after the Lunar New Year (January to February): This is a good time for those who like to watch peach blossoms, plum blossoms bloom.

March is the time of the Northwest blossom forest. Around 26-03, there is a festival of the Het Cha.

Between October and February, the white bouquet of flowers, the wildflowers bloom. Mid-November is the time of blooming white flowers, wild sunflower mixed with the red color of the poinsettia flower on Moc Chau.

Around April to August calendar: Moc Chau climate is cooler than Hanoi, with no flowers but plums and peaches for you to pick (April to June).

In early September, the Independence Day was very big, attracting Mong people at home and abroad to attend.  

The Best Places to Visit in Moc Chau

      1. Ngu Dong Ban On

Ngu Dong Ban On is a beautiful cave complex, a dignified and attractive tourist attraction in Moc Chau. This is a beautiful wilderness, with a system of 5 caves deep below the mountain with the beautiful shape given by nature. With natural wild beauty, Ngu Dong Ban On is an interesting destination for many tourists.

To get to Ngu Dong Ban On, you can go in different ways, go by car or bike ride. But in any types, go to Moc Chau junction turn right to the farm, then go for 7 km will see the signpost to Ngu Dong Ban.

     2. Tea heart of Moc Chau

From the center of Moc Chau town about 15km northeast – From the Moc Chau tower, you follow the road to Le Thanh Nghi street – through the market 70km, turn left along the provincial road 104 – via Moc Chau Township People’s Committee about 4km, then turn right about 1km to the left Hill of heart (located on the way to Ngu Dong Ban, and signboard at this intersection). Heart-shaped teapots symbolize vitality and love and are skillfully cultivated by farmers and become an impressive destination for visitors.

    3. Dai Yem Waterfall

Dai Yem waterfall (Nang waterfall or Ban Vat waterfall) belongs to Muong Sang commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province. Waterfall day and night pour down white, rumbling, not only bring visitors the enjoyment of a mysterious scenery but also the wonders of heaven and earth, but also the feeling of being in harmony with the winds and cool water. The most beautiful waterfall in April to September every year, because of the amount of water poured much, the entire waterfall is 70m wide is a white screen, both majestic and poetic.

     4. Pha Luong peak

Pha Luong Mountain is 30km from Moc Chau, between Vietnam and Laos. Although only at a height of nearly 2,000 meters, it is a challenging mountain, which requires endurance and courage for anyone who wants to conquer the journey to the border station, gathering points to start climbing. At the same time, the climb to the top of the mountain is very steep, different from other mountain peaks in the north. Therefore, climbing to the top takes 3-4 hours. Conquering Pha Luong peak, you will be immersed in the sea of clouds, be inhaled the wind at a height of 2000m.
